A hotel is also an office, house, wellness center, conference hall if need be, and of course, above all, a stop for a holiday. Different people visit hotels for various reasons. We at YOO Architecture have designed unordinary and remarkable signature locations of the prestigious world-renowned hotels. Minimalists, both the guests, who are at the hotel to feel at peace and those, who wish to experience the holiday to the full extent, should feel special and comfortable. Therefore, we consider the particular requirements of a hotel project while creating all these concepts. Out of these factors that need to be considered on a hotel project, probably the most important one is acoustic. We always take acoustic into consideration so that the guests can get quiet and peaceful moments at any time they may want during the privileged experience they have at the hotel. In addition, the use of durable materials and lighting are supplementary to the design of a hotel.
The first and last views are always remembered. The area where a guest forms their idea about the hotel with the first step is the lobby, and the suite, which is the last place to see before sleeping, are the first areas to remember about the hotel. Therefore, we reflect the identity of a hotel in the lobbies and suites, and we equip them with details that make the guests feel privileged. In the lobby that we designed for the project D Maris Bay Datça Peninsula Hotel, we intended to reflect the strong, reassuring and calming spirit of the brand. Just like in the other projects for lobbies and suites we have designed, we attached importance to balance. We worked as a general contractor for the Presidential Suite and the Designer Suite at The St. Regis Hotel. We preferred a dynamic yet controlled hotel interior decoration for the Designer Suite to avoid eye-offending colours and boring simplicity. The suite created based on inspiration from Bentley's brand at The St. Regis Hotel has become a concept by itself. For this project, based on the idea of how a luxury car would make someone feel, we have created a dim environment on the lightning, the fabrics, and the furniture, which does not darken but brings calmness to the room. Thanks to this design idea applied to all the areas of the suite, this location has become a privileged experience for the guests.
A hotel interior decoration project consists of different components. The details are determined by the hotel concept, location, the guests’ demands, and many other factors. For instance, at the project of Beyoğlu Banesta, we have ensured that the guests could feel comfortable with the calmness of nature, although the hotel is located in one of the busiest areas in the city. We focused on open designs where the guests could socialise, such as the terrace, lobby and gym.
